Like everyone, I tend to come up with a lot of ideas that I never get around to doing. Sometimes it’s out of laziness, sometimes it’s just because I can’t figure out how to make it work, and sometimes, it’s just because they’re pretty stupid ideas. So, in order to do something with them, I’m throwing them out here. If anyone wants to make these stupid ideas a reality, more power to you — maybe give a hat-tip to Kittysneezes, why don’t you?
Stupid Idea: So, whenever I hear a song title that has the word “Dancin’” or “Dancing” in it, I always mentally replace it as “Danzig”. You know, Glenn Danzig, the lead singer of the Misfits. And Samhain. And Danzig. And generally humorless metal guy. Apparently I’m not the only one, as Ken Stringfellow of the Posies‘ upcoming solo record is called Danzig in the Moonlight, so this isn’t a terribly original idea. Continue reading

Stupid Idea: An interview series called “Wasted Opportunities”. The idea would be to interview HUGE gets, big-name artists, like, say David Bowie or Paul McCartney — people who would actually be quite a bit of a coup — and ask them nothing but stupid, irrelevant questions.

Stupid Idea: Interviewing Morrissey solely about Sparks — nothing about the Smiths or Morrissey’s solo career. See, before Morrissey was, well, MORRISSEY, he was head of the Sparks fan club. And he’s still a big fan of them. And, well, I’m a big Sparks fan too — much, much more so than I am a Morrissey fan. Besides, from everything I’ve heard, Morrissey’s a total pill, and I think doing an interview with Morrissey The Former Head Of The Sparks Fan Club would be way funnier than doing an interview with Morrissey The Guy From The Smiths And Now Does A Lot Of Solo Stuff.
