I JUST came across an awesome new song. Or, rather, new to me — it originally came out in Norway in 2008, I guess, but never came out in the US (and hopefully that is fixing to change). It’s called “Demon Kitty Rag” by Katzenjammer. The funny thing is, when I saw it, and saw they were Norwegian, I thought it was going to be a Electro-Dance-Pop kinda thing… but, no, it’s an actual rag. Like, ragtime rag. It’s AWESOME.

Kind of think a more-ragtime-sounding Ditty Bops, and you probably got a pretty good idea. Here’s their website, and below the cut is a live performance of “Demon Kitty Rag” at SXSW.

According to the site, the international version of their record, Le Pop is coming out in August. Not up on Amazon yet (though they do seem to sell individual mp3s from it), but hopefully soon. I can tell I’ll be picking this one up on release day.
